Sensee John James,
Kenpo/Kempo Lõ Kahi
Association of America,
Vice President

Life in the Martial Arts for Sensee James began in early 1980 in a small Massachusetts town learning a modified Karazenpo Go Shin Jitsu. "From the moment I bowed into my first group class, I fell in love with the Martial Arts."

Over the ensuing years, Sensee James also studied Wah Lum Northern Praying Mantis Kung Fu in Boston wth Sifu Yao Li before meeting and being accepted as a student of Professor Nick Cerio in NCK in January 1988. "I considered Professor Cerio as a second father and treated him as such. My dedication and loyalty to Professor Cerio never strayed. And his untimely death in 1998 was completely devastating to me." In 1996, Sensee James made a promise to Professor Cerio when he was appointed by Professor Cerio to the NCK Executive Board, and ever since he has kept his promise even in the face of great loss and adversity. What started out as a group endeavor after Professor Cerio's passing, quickly eroded into being a single solitary journey. In 2011, upon rediscovering many troubling truths, and realizing that he was the last Original Executive Board member left, and the reality that Professor Cerio's plan had failed, Sensee James, with deep sorrow, permanently disbanded the NCK Exectutive Board.

In 1999 and 2001, Sensee James ventured to Las Vegas on fact-finding missions upon the death of Professor Cerio. While attending the Gathering of Eagles, he had the great fortune to cross paths with a man, whom up until that time, didn't know existed. The man was the son of a person whom Professor Cerio had mentioned in his lessons from time to time. And he now had the pleasure of meeting his son, Sifu Bill Chun, Jr.. "Sifu Chun, Jr. always greeted me warmly, was generous with his time, and was never judgemental of me or my past." After Sifu Chun, Jr. accepted an invitation by Sensee James to do a Seminar in Massachusetts in 2002, Sensee James began his journey of learning the Chow/Chun method of Go Shin Jitsu Kenpo/Chinese Kempo Kai. Over the ensuing years, he was eventually accepted as a full-time student and more recently accepted the postion of being a Representative of the Kenpo/Kempo Lo Kahi Association of America.

"My time and training with Sifu Chun, Jr. has been very rewarding and fulfilling. I have been accepted as a student to the Kenpo/Kempo Mother-System and given a room in the Castle, even considering NCK's exaggerated history with Great Grandmaster Chow and Grandmaster Chun, Sr. It has been an honor and privilege to serve the Art and learn from such a great and humble man as Sifu Bill Chun, Jr."
