In 1966 Master Parker begin his martial art training with the White horse and Tiger Division of the Korean Army on the Demilitarized Zone. After a year of training, he was awarded a Red/Brown Belt in Tang Soo Do. Korean Soldiers had to have the minimum of a Black Belt to be able to Join the Elite Korean White Horse and Tiger Divisions. Master Parker spent 18 months in Korea. In 1968, as a Machinegunner on a Huey Chopper; While on Temporary Duty Flying the Koreans into Combat in Quinon, Vietnam; he agin, trained with members of the White Horse and Tiger Infantry Divisions.
In 1976 Master Parker begin studying Go Shin Jitsu Kenpo/Chinese Kempo under Sensee Otto Schmid, who received his Black Belt from Grand Master Bill Q.C. Chun Sr. & also had training with Great Grand Master Wm. K.S. Chow via his association with GM Chun, Sr.. Grand Master Chun Sr. signed Master Parker's Black Belt Certificate in 1980. He was promoted to 2nd degree by his Sifu Otto Schmid in 1984.
Master Parker was promoted to Brown Belt in 1977, during which time, he was developing his own fighting style. After 8 years of Fine Tuning his GSJK; with Sifu Schmid's help, he began to formally create the LION PRIDE 3 ANIMAL SNAKEFIST style based upon the ferocity of the African Lion, African Snake Dancing, and the Fighting Black Crane.
