History

The Go Shin Jitsu Kai / Chinese Kempo Federation of America was developed in 1965 and implemented in 1968 by Grandmaster Bill Chun, Sr. and his lovely wife Magdalena.  The Federation’s primary mission is, and always has been, to carry forward the traditions developed and set forth by Professor William K.S. Chow and to continue to develop and pass on the Kenpo/Kempo formed by Professor Chow and later continued and carried forward by his top student and protégé,  Grandmaster Bill Chun, Sr. (see picture on left).

In 1993, Grandmaster Bill Chun, Sr. passed away.  Thus closing the 1^st chapter in the Federation’s history.  Prior to his passing, Grandmaster Chun, Sr. formally passed the torch and leadership of the Go Shin Jitsu Kai / Chinese Kempo system to his son, and lifelong student, Master Bill Chun, Jr.  Master Chun, Jr., the embodiment of both his father and Professor Chow, continues the legacy of both his teachers by searching for potential students with the right character, attitude, and discipline, to learn the teachings of the Go Shin Jitsu Kai / Chinese Kempo system.

Today, Master Bill Chun, Jr. is carrying forward the legacy of the Go Shin Jitsu Kai/Chinese Kempo system by doing something that has never been done before in it's history.  Master Chun, Jr. is publicly opening the doors of the Go Shin Jitsu Kai/Chinese Kempo style to all who wish to learn, without prejudice of the individuals background.  A style that has been underground for decades, and taught in garages, back yards, beaches, and basements, is now available for all to see and benefit from.  Master Chun, Jr. is serious about his mission to pass on his teachings to those individuals who show the proper dedication and loyalty to learn.

In recent history, Master Chun, Jr. has kept his promise of teaching all who wish to learn.  This promise has included students of the late Professor Nick Cerio, who himself was a Federation member under the guidance of Grandmaster Bill Chun, Sr. almost four decades ago (see Unity Picture™ to the right).  To show his appreciation for being accepted as a full student of the Go Shin Jitsu Kai/Chinese Kempo system under Master Chun, Jr., and for the trust that Master Chun, Jr. has placed in him, Shihan John James, a longtime student of Professor Nick Cerio, has accepted Master Chun, Jr.'s appointment to be a Liaison for the Go Shin Jitsu Kai/ Chinese Kempo Federation via this website.
